TATE to TATE

It was a beautiful Summer’s day, as some members of the Lodge, their ladies and other guests gathered from 10.45 a.m. at Tate Britain for an official tour.
After a relaxed look around a sumptuous and enjoyable lunch followed at the Tate Britain’s Rex Whistler Restaurant. Following lunch, the party took the Thames Boat to the Tate Modern. After an informal viewing of the contrasting exhibits, the day ended around 4.30 p.m.
OPENING OF NEW SCIENCE BUILDING

Several members of the Lodge attended the opening of Tonbridge's new science building, having supported ??? (line about us supporting the school)
The unveiling of the opening plaque followed a specially composed fanfare and excellent talks by the Headmaster and two past Commanders of the International Space Station; the audience momentarily disappeared behind the celebratory confetti. The speeches were all inspiring - the phrase "come to this place to catch the fire" complemented the importance of finding what interests individuals really have to form the foundation for their endeavours in life.
HONOURS FOR DISTINGUISHED MEMBER
Congratulations to Jeremy Skipper who has been awarded an MBE in the 2017 Queen’s birthday honours list for services to agriculture in the East Midlands
Skipper (XXX) joined the Lodge in (YYY) and recently awarded with the masonic honour of Past Provincial Senior Grand Deacon of the Provincial Grand Master of Leicestershire and Rutland in November 2017.
LODGE WINE TASTING EVENING

Donations were made towards one of the Lodge’s charitable efforts. The evening continued joined by other guests at The Sun Tavern, Covent Garden.
Twelve members of the Lodge and their guests enjoyed a sumptuous introduction to wine and food pairing delivered by Michael Khajeh-Noori, in Covent Garden.
